Dhaka //
Questioning why Zia was not recognized as the declarer of independence, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, independence has been stolen and a family’s wealth has been made. No one in this country knows when and where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared independence. If Sheikh Mujibur Rahman called for the freedom struggle on March 7, then why did Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hang the Pakistani flag at his residence on March 23, Pakistan Day? – The then students had taken down that flag and hung the national flag of Bangladesh.
He said these things as the chief guest at a rally held at Paltan More on the occasion of the great Victory Day at the initiative of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka Metropolitan South this Monday morning.
Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, those who sold Bangladesh’s independence have fled the country. They have gone to the country where they hold and cherish the ideals of the country. Sheikh Hasina has returned to this country only to avenge the murder of her father and mortgage Bangladesh’s territory to India in exchange for power. Who killed Sheikh Mujib? – He was killed by members of the pro-independence army. Why did he do it? Because Sheikh Mujib had started the journey of Indian hegemony in this country by establishing Baksal, leaving the spirit of the Liberation War. His daughter is also killing the scholars, students, farmers, and workers of this country to obey India.
At this time, she also said that on October 28, 2006, people were beaten to death like snakes with logs and sticks in this Paltan Maidan. In July-August 2024, during the student-public movement, martyr Abu Sayeed’s statement was ‘There is a storm inside my chest, shoot me if you feel pain’ – this storm is the storm inside the chest of the 180 million people of this country. If Jamaat-e-Islami gets the responsibility of running the state, all the murders from October 28, 2006 to August 5, 2024 will be properly investigated and justice will be served.
The rally on the occasion of the great Victory Day held at Paltan More, chaired by Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul, member of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan South, and led by Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, member of the Central Working Committee and Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South, turned into a sea of people. The rally from Paltan More to Kakrail More, even before the scheduled start time at 10 am, was filled with the participation of leaders, activists and the public.
Speaking as a special guest at the rally, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Abdul Halim said, the pledge of this Victory Day will be – let Indian hegemony be destroyed, let the defeated power, India’s ally Awami League, be destroyed; we are united in the national interest, forgetting all differences. He called on all political parties to join forces with the people against Indian hegemony. The dreams and aspirations of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for an independent Bangladesh from 1971 to 2024 will be fulfilled through national unity.
Among others who spoke at the rally were Dhaka Metropolitan South Naib Amir Abdus Sabur Fakir and Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Dhaka Metropolitan South Assistant Secretary Muhammad Delwar Hossain, Kamal Hossain, Dr. Abdul Mannan, Islami Chhatra Shibir Dhaka Metropolitan Former President Muzaffar Hossain and others.
In his speech as president, Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul said, under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, our independence was given to a neighboring country on loan. On August 5, 2024, the students of this country brought back that independence with their lives and blood. Sheikh Hasina is conspiring with her Indian masters in India to snatch away the independence achieved by the students. Jamaat-Shibir will play a united role along with the people of this country to protect the independence achieved by the students. No one will be allowed to play with the independence, sovereignty and fate of the people of Bangladesh. He sought the cooperation and support of the countrymen to form a new Bangladesh, a humane and welfare state under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami.
After the rally, the victory rally led by Dr. Shafiqur Rahman started from Paltan More and ended at Paltan More via Baitul Mukarram. More than a lakh people participated in the victory rally spontaneously.
