The flesh and bones recovered by the police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have matched the DNA of his daughter Mumtarin Ferdous Doreen.

According to West Bengal CID sources, the DNA report has confirmed that the flesh and bones recovered from a canal and a flat belong to the former Bangladeshi MP. Both samples were sent to India’s Central Forensic Science Laboratory. The DNA of the two matched.

It is learned that Doreen came to Kolkata in late November. Then her DNA sample was taken. Then both samples were sent for verification.
On May 12, former Jhenaidah MP Anwarul Azim Anar went to West Bengal. That day, he went to meet his family friend Gopal Biswas in Kolkata around 7 pm. The next day, on May 13, Anar left Gopal’s house at 1:41 pm, saying that he had to see a doctor.
In the evening after leaving, Anar told his friend Gopal that he was going to Delhi and would call him when he reached there. Later, he warned his friend Gopal not to call him, saying that VIPs were with him.
On May 17, Anar’s family called Gopal after being unable to contact him. At that time, they told Gopal that they were unable to contact him (Anar). The family filed a complaint at the police station in Dhaka that day. Later, on May 22, Indian media outlet NDTV reported that MP Anar was hacked to death in a flat in Sanjeeva Gardens, New Town, Kolkata.

On May 22, MP Anar’s daughter Mumtarin Ferdous Doreen filed a case of kidnapping with the intention of murder at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in the capital.
