Foreign Affairs Advisor Towhid Hossain said that 60,000 Rohingya have infiltrated Bangladesh in the last two months despite no policy decision. Bangladesh has termed this infiltration as a bad sign for the future. He said this while talking to reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday (December 22).
The Foreign Affairs Advisor said that the Rohingya issue was discussed in the informal consultation of the foreign ministers of the five countries bordering Myanmar in Bangkok. In that meeting, it was mentioned that peace will not return to Myanmar unless the Rohingya problem is resolved. The situation will be even more dire after the next decade. All regional countries will face losses.
He also said that in this informal meeting held on December 18, Myanmar’s border security, crime and future political system were discussed. Bangladesh, Myanmar, India, Laos, China, Thailand were involved.
