A request has been made to Interpol to issue a red notice against former Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, who resigned and fled to India.
Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal Mohammad Tajul Islam gave this information on Sunday (December 22).
He said, “We have applied. The Home Ministry can say whether a red notice has been issued or not.”
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam wrote to the Inspector General of Police to take steps to issue an Interpol red notice to arrest Sheikh Hasina and the fugitive Awami League leaders who fled to India in the International Crimes Tribunal case on November 10.
On this day, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul told the media that the government is going to issue a red alert notice through Interpol to bring back all the fugitive accused in the July-August genocide, including Hasina. The fugitive fascist group, wherever they may be in the world, will be caught and brought to justice through Interpol.
Earlier, on October 17, the International Crimes Tribunal issued an arrest warrant against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on charges of genocide during the July-August uprising. The government wants to bring back Hasina and the fugitive accused by issuing a red notice to Interpol.
