President of the People’s Rights Council and former VP of DUCSU, Nurul Haque Nur, said that the interim government should be given another two years. This government should cooperate in the country’s reforms. If Hasina had not fallen, there would have been another 4 years, so there is no harm in giving this government another 2 years.

He said these things at a discussion meeting held in front of DUCSU Bhaban at 3 pm on Sunday (December 22). This information was given in a press release today.

The release said that Nurul Haque Nur said that if some advisors fail, they should be criticized, if necessary, they should be protested demanding their resignation, but this government should do the country’s reform work and the genocide trials.

Stating that Sheikh Hasina has installed her cronies in all sectors in the last 15 years, Nur said at the discussion meeting that reforms are needed in all areas, including not only the police, but also the Ministry of Public Administration, the Judiciary, the Election Commission, and the armed forces. On December 22, 2019, the then DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur and the leaders and activists of the Chhatra Rights Parishad were brutally attacked by the Chhatra League and Muktijuddho Mancha at the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) building. The Bangladesh Chhatra Rights Parishad organized this discussion meeting demanding the trial of those involved in the DUCSU attack and their expulsion from the university.

At that time, Nur said, on December 22, 2019, the attack was led by Chhatra League terrorists Saddam-Sanjit. We did not get any help even after calling the DU Proctor on that day, but DU Proctor Golam Rabbani was behind the university attacks, supporting the Chhatra League. The DU Proctor is a disgrace to the name of a teacher, a man with a distorted mind. This Golam Rabbani and former VC Akhtaruzzaman must be held responsible for all the misdeeds of the Chhatra League.

He said, students live in the public rooms of this university inhumane lives. Some become BCS cadres by studying there. However, the food in this university is so bad that there is a risk of getting sick after eating the food. The allocation for research and food in this university should be increased. Elections should be organized across the country. In the future, the youth will lead the country.

General Secretary of the People’s Rights Council Md. Rashed Khan said, just because it protested against the aggression of India, the militant organization Chhatra League and Muktijuddho Manch led by the notorious mafia Saddam and Sanjit, agents of the local RAW, carried out a hellish attack on DUCSU. 5 years of impunity. Even today, the accused are still out of reach. At that time, the police gave an investigation report, there was no attack, there was a light scuffle.

He also said, at that time, when the teacher’s name was called, the proctor Golam Rabbani was called, he said, why did you come to the closed campus? Even though he called him repeatedly, he did not come forward to save us. Former Vice-Chancellor Akhtaruzzaman was also the fuel. These teachers should be fired, the students of those who attacked should be canceled. Those who won DUCSU illegally, their DUCSU positions should be canceled and the DUCSU elections should be investigated.

Stating that the names of the Chhatra League that killed and tortured students on the campus should be erased, Rashed Khan said, many teachers have been illegally appointed in this university, Chhatra League cadres work in the administrative and academic buildings. All of them should be fired.

The discussion meeting was presided over by Sanaullah, President of the DU branch of Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, and moderated by Rakibul Islam, General Secretary of the Dhaka University branch. Dhaka University Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed and Economics teacher Rashad Faridi spoke in solidarity at the discussion meeting.

Also speaking were Chhatra Odhikar Parishad President Bin Yamin Mollah, General Secretary Nazmul Hasan, former convener of Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, Hasan Al Mamun, who was injured in the DUCSU attack, former student leader Abu Hanif, Mahfuzur Rahman Khan, Manjur Morshed Mamun, Bariul Hasan, and others.
