Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Principal Advisor to the Interim Government, paid his deepest respects to former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (late). At the time, he paid tribute to the late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by placing a wreath at the portrait of the late Prime Minister. He paid tribute at the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Tuesday. The Principal Advisor’s press wing confirmed this information.
After paying tribute to the portrait of Manmohan Singh, the Principal Advisor also wrote a condolence message in the condolence book opened at the High Commission.
Earlier, Indian High Commissioner Pranay Kumar Verma welcomed the Principal Advisor at the High Commission in Baridhara at 11:30 am.
The press wing of the chief advisor further said that Professor Yunus shared his memories with his long-time friend Manmohan Singh with the High Commissioner.
Recalling the friendship, the chief advisor said, how simple he (Manmohan Singh) was! How wise a man he was! Singh played a major role in making India a global economic giant.
Manmohan Singh died on Thursday night at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India. He was 92 years old. He was the Prime Minister of the Congress-led coalition government for two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2014. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, from August 2019 to April 2024.
This talented man was born on September 26, 1932 in Chakwal district of Pakistan.
India is observing seven days of mourning for the death of the late Prime Minister.
