BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has commented that the sacrifice of martyr Asaduzzaman in the 1969 mass movement inspired the people of Bangladesh in the subsequent movement and struggle.
He made this comment in a statement sent to the media on Sunday on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Asaduzzaman in the 1969 mass movement.
Tarique Rahman said, Martyr Asad is an unforgettable name in the history of freedom and democratic movements. This fearless brave soldier sacrificed his life on the streets to free democracy from the clutches of military dictatorship. Following his example, the fall of dictatorship was accelerated, and the democratic rights of the people of this country were achieved.
Martyr Asad’s sacrifice for democracy has inspired us in various movements and struggles in the future. In such a situation, he believes that protecting independence and sovereignty, ensuring people’s freedom and strengthening democracy are the most urgent tasks today. At the same time, Tarique Rahman called on the countrymen to work together.
