Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen said that Bangladesh will have the same relations with the country as before. There will be no rift in the relations between the two countries in the future, but rather they will deepen. He said this during a meeting with Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain on Sunday (January 19).
Towhid Hossain is going to Beijing on a three-day visit on Monday (January 20). This is his first bilateral visit after the interim government took office. The Foreign Affairs Advisor’s upcoming visit was discussed during the meeting.
Ambassador Yao Wen said that Towhid Hossain’s visit to China is important. The country has always been a friend of Bangladesh and will remain so in the future. This country will have the same relations with them as before. It will deepen in the future.
Responding to a question about the Teesta Multipurpose Project, he said that the agreements proposed by Bangladesh will not be disrupted. China is working on the Teesta Project. I think this will be resolved.
Regarding the assistance to those injured in the July-August uprising, the Chinese ambassador said that China is willing to provide medical equipment if Bangladesh wants. The country wants to provide comprehensive assistance to the people of this country.
