In mid-February, on the sidelines of the Indian Ocean Conference in Oman, the Foreign Affairs Advisor of the interim government, Md. Towhid Hossain, and Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar may meet.

A diplomatic source says that the Indian Ocean Conference will be held in Oman on February 16 and 17. This is the eighth conference. The foreign ministers of Bangladesh and India will attend it. There is a possibility that the two foreign ministers will meet on the sidelines of the conference. Both sides have agreed to this meeting. Both sides are working on it.

According to diplomatic sources, issues related to the interests of the two countries may be discussed in the meeting. There may be disagreements between the two countries on some issues, but that can be resolved through negotiations.

Diplomatic sources say that the issue of border tensions may come up in the Towhid-Jaishankar meeting. Apart from this, various ongoing issues between the two countries, including visa issues, Teesta issue, and renewal of the Ganga Treaty, may come up for discussion.
