BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that in the last one and a half decades, Sheikh Hasina herself and her family members established a sectarian system in the country. Now Sheikh Hasina is announcing programs from neighboring countries. And among the few who have been caught and are in jail, one of them is a dervish (Salman F Rahman). He is giving a sermon from prison.

Rizvi said that he (Salman F Rahman) is occasionally sending a sermon from prison. That happens when so many workers come down. I don’t know how their trial process is going? How they are saying these things after coming out of there. Surely they are being given help in various ways. They are taking advantage of that and talking.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a program at the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) Seminar Hall in Ramna, the capital, on Wednesday afternoon.

The discussion meeting was organized by the Association of Engineers, Bangladesh (AB), an organization of engineers, on the occasion of the 89th birth anniversary of BNP founder martyr President Ziaur Rahman.

Regarding the torture of opposition party leaders and activists in prison, Rizvi said, on the other hand, we were taken to prison and kept with drug addicts and death row convicts. We were tortured and oppressed using the state machinery. Disappearances and murders were carried out on the orders of Sheikh Hasina. Which was published in the media. She has sponsored it state-wise.

Regarding the interim government’s reform activities, he said, the government is talking about reforms. But don’t waste time in the name of reforms. Bring such reforms that fascism cannot be re-established. Bring such reforms that people get justice. Bring such reforms that the grave of fascism is built. And so that no fascism is born. Otherwise, people will not take it well.

Regarding BNP founder martyr President Ziaur Rahman, Rizvi said, Ziaur Rahman is a multifaceted institution. It is difficult to discuss him in a short space. His various activities are vast. He is a successful statesman. He understood the needs of the people of the country at the right time. His qualities were immense.

The meeting, chaired by AAB President and IEB President Engineer Riazul Islam Riju and moderated by Joint Secretary General Engineer AKM Asaduzzaman Chunnu, was addressed by AAB Secretary General Engineer Alamgir Hasin Ahmed, Engineer Abdul Halim Mia, Vice President Engineer Md. Mustafa-e Zaman Selim (CIP), IEB Dhaka Center Chairman Engineer Helal Uddin Talukder, General Secretary Engineer Mahbub Alam, AAB leader Engineer Abdus Salam, and others.

Regarding Ziaur Rahman’s contribution to the Liberation War, Rizvi said that the political leaders of that time were ambivalent. At that time, what would he do or not do – at such a time, the people of the country became excited after hearing the declaration of independence by martyred President Ziaur Rahman. But the husband of the fugitive Prime Minister, Dr. Wazed, has written in his book that the fugitive Prime Minister had made all the plots and conspiracies to erase Ziaur Rahman and his contributions.

He said that people have seen the behavior of the Awami League towards the people in the post-independence period. The conflicts and counter-conflicts of the Awami League occurred on August 15. But Ziaur Rahman brought all classes of people of the country to one platform by declaring a state philosophy, Bangladeshi nationalism. The magnitude of which is very great.

Rizvi also said that Ziaur Rahman’s contribution in all sectors, in foreign policy-education policy or becoming self-reliant. The credit for uniting a nation after the war belongs to Ziaur Rahman. Hasina forcibly created a mirror house and wrote history by torturing the leaders and activists of the political party. But the people did not accept it. School students were forced to teach that Sheikh Mujib was like a god! Sheikh Hasina has been trying to do this for the last 15-16 years. She forcibly established a clan system. She named various establishments after her family members. Three consecutive bridges going to Patuakhali have been named after her family members. Are there no other famous people in the country. Was this a country? This was Sheikh Hasina’s clan system.
