A group of agitating students vandalized Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s house at Dhanmondi-32 in the capital. On Wednesday evening, around 7:30 pm, hundreds of students gathered from different areas of the capital towards Dhanmondi 32, shouting slogans. Later, they attacked Sheikh Mujib’s house at 32.

Although the police and army tried to stop them, they broke the barricades of the law enforcement agencies and entered house number 32 and started vandalizing. Around 10 pm, they set the house on fire. The students and the crowd also set fire to Sheikh Hasina’s residence, Sudha Sadan, located at Dhanmondi 5.

At that time, the students said that fascism has started from this house. Therefore, the people of the country want to wipe this house from the soil of the country. Especially for the last 16 years, Sheikh Hasina’s government has been planning to suck the blood of the people of the country and kill the people of the country again.

Earlier, a post on social media said, ‘Long March to Dhanmondi-32’ bulldozer procession towards Dhanmondi-32. This program will be held at 9 pm tonight at the initiative of the revolutionary students of 24 to protest the anti-Bangladesh activities of Hasina, the murderer who committed genocide against thousands of students and the public and fled to Delhi from there.

On Tuesday night, a post on the verified Facebook page of the banned organization Chhatra League said that Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, who is in India, will address the students at 9 pm on Wednesday. In protest against this, the students have announced a ‘Long March to Dhanmondi-32’ program at 9 pm on Wednesday. However, the vandalism started before their previously announced announcement.

Meanwhile, to avoid any untoward incident and to control the law and order situation, the police had already taken a cautious position in the area around the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum on Dhanmondi-32 Road. However, three police vehicles and a large number of police were deployed in front of the house at the time of the vandalism of house number 32.

Later, the students left the scene while carrying out the vandalism. At around 9:15 pm, a group of army members again came in front of the gate of Sheikh Mujib’s house at number 32. However, they also left from there in the face of obstacles from the students.

Finally, a bulldozer was brought to demolish this historic house at Dhanmondi 32. Around 11 pm on Wednesday, a huge vehicle with a crane entered the house. The demolition of the historic building with a bulldozer began at around 12 midnight. In the meantime, the students and the public had broken the main gate of the Dhanmondi 32 house, the sculpture of Sheikh Mujib, the mural, the doors and windows of the house and many other things. Later, it was set on fire. No one was seen extinguishing the fire until the bulldozer entered.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman used to give directions from this residence in the days before the Liberation War. He was killed along with his wife, son and daughter-in-law on August 15, 1975. The house was later converted into a memorial museum.

After the fall of the Awami League government in the July uprising, an angry mob attacked, vandalized and set fire to house number 32, Dhanmondi, on August 5. Since then, the house has been largely abandoned.

‘Sheikh Bari’ vandalized in Khulna –

A group of students vandalized the controversial ‘Sheikh Bari’ in the Moylapota area of ​​the district. The house belongs to Sheikh Helal Uddin, cousin of former MP Sheikh Hasina from Bagerhat-1 constituency, and Sheikh Salahuddin Jewel, former MP from Khulna-2 constituency.

It is learned that around 8:30 pm on Wednesday, thousands of students surrounded the house in the Moylapota area. Locals joined them. Around 9 pm, leaders and activists of the anti-discrimination student movement announced and vandalized the house. Later, they started demolishing it with two bulldozers of the city corporation.

At that time, leaders and activists of the anti-discrimination student movement raised various slogans against Sheikh Hasina, Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League. Many tried to break the wall of the house with rods and hammers. Around 9:15 pm, fire was seen burning on the roof of the house for some time. At that time, no law enforcement officers were seen anywhere near the house.

Hanif’s house was demolished in Kushtia-

The house of Mahbub ul Alam Hanif, joint general secretary of the Awami League and former member of parliament for Kushtia-3 (Sadar) constituency, was demolished with a bulldozer. On Wednesday night, around 10 pm, activists under the banner of the anti-discrimination student-public movement began demolishing the three-story house on PTI Road in the city.

Earlier, on August 4 and 5, this house was vandalized and set on fire. There was looting. After this incident, there was nothing in the house except bricks. However, Hanif has been in hiding since August 5 after the fall of the Awami League government.
