Iran is secretly developing nuclear missiles, which are based on North Korean designs and are capable of hitting Europe. This is what the country’s opposition group National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has claimed.
The group said in a report that these weapons are being manufactured at two facilities. Which are mainly working under the guise of satellite launch centers.
According to the NCRI, Tehran is accelerating its nuclear program at these centers.
Their report also said that the missiles are capable of traveling more than 3,000 kilometers (1,800 miles). Which can target different parts of Europe.
According to the NCRI report, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Advanced Defense Research Organization operate the Shahroud Missile Facility. Where nuclear warheads are being manufactured. The warhead will be fitted to the ‘Gahem-100’ missile, which can reach Greece.
The report notes that Iran has already conducted at least three rocket tests at the Shahroud facility. However, the government has presented these as satellite launches.
The NCRI claims that the IRGC intends to test a more advanced Gahem-100 rocket in the coming months.
The second test site is located 43 miles southeast of the city of Semnan, where Iran is developing the ‘Simorgh’ missile, which is based on a North Korean design.
According to the NCRI, parts of the site are hidden underground and have been expanded since 2005.
The NCRI also claims that Iran has linked the program to its space program to keep it secret and has established the Khomeini Space Launch Terminal.
Sona Samsami, the US representative of the NCRI, said, “Tehran is trying to keep the international community at bay and buy time to implement its nuclear ambitions.”
She also said that last year’s Israeli attack weakened Tehran’s air defenses, which gave the West an opportunity to stop Iran’s nuclear program.
Samsami commented, “Tehran is currently in the most vulnerable position. The Iranian regime has now accelerated its development of nuclear weapons.”
She said, “Now is the time to hold this regime accountable for internal killings, regional wars and nuclear programs.” Source: NDTV
