The escaped dictatorship must be tried: Tarique Rahman

Feni Correspondent //

BNP Acting Chairman and Chief Advisor of Amara BNP Family Tarique Rahman said that the dictatorship destroyed everything in the country before it fled. The dictator fled to India by abducting and killing countless people, including BNP leaders and activists. The escaped dictatorship must be tried at any cost.

On Wednesday, on the occasion of the initiative of ‘Amara BNP Family’, which provided financial assistance to the families of 45 martyrs of the July-August Revolution in Feni, Noakhali and Lakshmipur districts and gifting a house to the family of Mohammad Masud, who was killed in a RAB shootout, he made these remarks while addressing a public meeting virtually at the Model Pilot High School ground of Sonagazi Government Chhab.

Tarique Rahman said that the fallen dictatorship had taken away people’s rights for the past 17 years. BNP leaders and activists have fought on the streets to establish those rights and shed their fresh blood. Everyone must continue to struggle to build the future of Bangladesh in the spirit of the great liberation war, the struggle of the past 17 years and the latest July-August revolution. We gave the reform proposal that is being discussed in the country now two and a half years ago. The dictatorship did not take our reform proposal into account. And it is with that belief that we have presented 31 points before the nation. Because BNP thinks about the country and the people. It wants to work for the welfare of the country.

He said, you have seen how the founder of BNP, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, has run the country. How he has created employment opportunities for the people of the country by establishing factories. He has established it as a country rich in food through the canal digging program. How your national leader Begum Khaleda Zia has run the country. She has revamped the education of girls, the education system of Bangladesh. She has created new factories for employment. During the tenure of the current government, the time in the name of reforms should not be longer and longer. Everyone should be vigilant in this regard. Currently, the rise in commodity prices has created despair among the people. What will happen to our commodity prices, education, health system, employment? So we have to pay attention to these expectations of the people.

Urging for early national elections, the acting chairman of BNP said that if the people’s elected government gets the responsibility of running the country, the rule of law will be established in the country. The dream country desired by all martyrs will be built.

Stating that BNP is ready to work for the welfare of the country and the people, Tarique Rahman said that BNP always thinks about the welfare of the country and the people. The main reason for this is that the people of the country want to have trust in BNP. Leaders and activists must be vigilant about how BNP will become more popular as a political party and will be useful for the welfare of the country and the people.

We BNP Family Central Committee Convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon presided over the event and under the guidance of Member Secretary Agriculturist Mokchedul Momin Mithun, BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, Abdul Awal Mintu, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s advisor former MP Joynal Abedin Faruk, former MP Joynal Abedin VP Joynal, Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, BNP Executive Committee Treasurer M Rashiduzzaman Millat, BNP Chittagong Divisional Organizing Secretary Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, Co-Organizing Secretary Harunur Rashid Harun, BNP Executive Committee Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Mohammad Bakul, Co-Training Affairs Secretary Rehana Akhter Ranu, Co-Science Affairs Secretary Belal Ahmed Belal, BNP Executive Committee Members Advocate Shahana Akhter Shanu, Abdul Latif Joni, Jalal Ahmed Majumder, Mamunur Rashid, Mashiur Rahman Biplob, Feni Judge Court PP Advocate Mejbah Uddin Khan, Abu Taleb, Sonagazi Upazila BNP Senior Joint Convener Jamal Uddin Sentu, Member Secretary Syed Alam Bhuiyan, Firoz Alam, father of martyred Chhatra Dal leader Kawsar Uddin, Muntah Binte Masud, daughter of martyred Mohammad Masud, Jahanara Begum, daughter of martyred Zafar Ahmed, and others.
