A complaint has been received that son-in-law Konai Shabdkar (30) was beaten to death with a stick in his in-laws’ house in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar district. The incident took place in Dhiteshwar village of Munshibazar union on Monday night. Police have arrested two people in this incident.

Konai Shabdkar is the son of Baji Shabdkar of Moidail village of the same union.

The arrested are Sushil Shabdkar of Dhiteshwar village and his son Sumit Shabdkar.

Locals said that Konai Shabdkar went to visit his in-laws’ house. During the day, there was a fight between the children there. At night, people from the neighboring house randomly beat up the people from Konai’s in-laws’ house. At that time, Sushil Shabdkar and his son Sumit Shabdkar beat Konai with a stick and injured him. Later, locals took Konai to the hospital in a seriously injured condition, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed Iftekhar Hossain said, “Locals have arrested the two killers and handed them over to the police. The body has been sent to the Moulvibazar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Preparations for a case are underway in this incident.”

A crime scene team led by Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Moulvibazar OC Hillol Roy inspected the scene on Tuesday morning and started an investigation.
