Out of the 16,429 ‘missing’ cases filed during the ousted Awami League government, 1,214 will be withdrawn, said Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul.
He made this known at a press conference at the Law Ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The Legal Advisor said, “We hope that the verdicts in three to four cases, including the cases of genocide and disappearances and murders during the anti-discrimination movement, will be available by October.” Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Awami League leaders and activists, and others involved in these cases have been made defendants.
