University Teachers Association of Bangladesh (UTAB) condemned and protested against the attack on anti-discrimination students by Ansar forces. The organization also alleged that there is a conspiracy to destabilize the interim government.
In a statement on Monday, Utab President Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam and Secretary General Prof. Dr. Md. Morshed Hasan Khan made this complaint.
In the statement, they said, there is a conspiracy to destabilize the interim government. The government should identify the members of the Ansar forces involved in the attack, shooting and beating of the anti-discrimination students on Sunday night and take punitive measures against them and arrange proper treatment for the injured students-journalists.
They also said that the Nobel Peace Prize winner of Bangladesh and the world. The interim government led by Muhammad Yunus has taken over the country at a turbulent time. Because dictator Sheikh Hasina fled the country in the mass uprising of anti-discrimination students on August 5. Awami League’s corrupt leaders and activists are also in hiding. Those who have oppressed the people of the country for the last 16 years. Although the dictatorship has fallen, the ghosts and ghosts of the dictatorship remain in various institutions of administration. They are everywhere. These conspirators and dictators think that they will bring back Sheikh Hasina and make a counter-revolution in the country! Yesterday Sunday night, the activities of Ansar forces showed the same. Where the people of the whole country are busy helping the flood victims, how did the Ansar forces block the secretariat of the country’s main government office?
The leaders of UTAB said that if there is any demand of Ansar forces, it is subject to discussion. But how dare to block someone even after accepting their demands? In fact, this is being done systematically to destabilize the current interim government. Friends of Awami dictatorship still remain in various institutions including police, administration. Those who want to fuel the country to create instability and anarchy again. But we think that the anti-discrimination movement of the students will fly like a house of cards of the dictatorship. None of their schemes will work.
They also said that the interim government should immediately remove those who worked to protect the autocracy Sheikh Hasina and appoint competent people. If not, it is not good that the Ansar kicked the young students with their boots and bruised their bodies yesterday. We demand that the attackers of the young students be immediately identified and brought to justice.
