In the last 24 hours, 506 people have been arrested across the country in ‘Operation Devil Hunt’. In addition, 1,141 people have been arrested for cases and other crimes. A total of 1,647 people have been arrested during this period.

The Police Headquarters gave this information in a press release on Tuesday.

It said that in addition to the arrests, a single-barrel gun, 6 pistol bullets, an LG and 6 cartridges have been recovered in the last 24 hours. 5,882 people have been arrested so far in this operation that started on February 8. Among them are former ministers of the Awami League government, MPs and various leaders of the Awami League and its affiliates. Apart from this, various types of criminals are also being arrested.

Incidentally, on February 7, an attack on students took place at the house of former minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur. The students alleged that Awami League people carried out the attack. After this incident, the government decided to strengthen the overall security system of the country. In continuation of this, ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ was started from February 8. The interim government took the initiative to conduct ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ mainly to maintain the law and order situation in the country.
