The top leaders of the 12-party alliance have expressed deep concern and anger over the bloody clashes between the anti-discrimination student movement and the nationalist Chhatra Dal in Kuwait.
In a statement sent to the media on Wednesday (February 19), the leaders said that the unity of all the forces of the mass uprising is our destination. Anti-fascists and Bangladeshi nationalists will have to compete politically positively among themselves. Everyone will have to show restraint and utmost tolerance.
The leaders gave almost the same information and said that the friends of the fallen dictatorship will be inspired by Tuesday’s incident and will spread the trap of conspiracy.
They said that if anyone thinks openly about politics, the former Chhatra League, the allies of July and Chhatra Shibir and Chhatra Dal are enemies of July, then it will be difficult to protect the independence achieved by July.
The leaders also said, we want punishment for the criminals, as well as in favor of the politics of coexistence and progress. July independence cannot be saved without the Chhatra Dal.
The alliance leaders called on everyone to strengthen anti-fascist unity with the mentality of openness, tolerance, acceptance of differences and criticism at this critical time for the nation.
The leaders fear that disunity among themselves will help the fascists to reorganize in a new way. Let us remain united in building a new Bangladesh.
