Lakshmipur Correspondent //

BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said that no interim government has the power to hold local government elections. This government’s power is from the time Sheikh Hasina fled until the elections. It is to take Bangladesh towards a fair election and hand over power to the elected government. They have no power to do anything else.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a BNP rally organized at Lakshmipur District Outer Stadium on Thursday.

The rally was organized on various public demands including the demand to keep the prices of daily necessities at a tolerable level, improve the deteriorating law and order situation, announce an election roadmap for a quick transition to a democratic path, and confront the various conspiracies of fascism in the state.

BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie presided over the meeting, which was addressed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s advisor Abul Khair Bhuiyan, BNP Organizing Secretary Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, Joint Organizing Secretary VP Harunur Rashid, Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Joint Industry and Commerce Secretary ABM Ashraf Uddin Nijan, and Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna.
