Different domestic and foreign agencies are also creating various incidents to prove the current government as a failure and ineffective, said Nurul Haque Nur, president of the People’s Rights Council.

He made this comment after a meeting with the DMP Commissioner and DCs of various zones on Monday (February 24).

Nur said, “Different domestic and foreign agencies are creating various incidents to prove the current government as a failure and ineffective and to prove the law enforcement agencies as a failure. In that case, if the police cannot maintain its law and order situation, it is possible to determine the law and order situation of the entire country through the DMP. In that case, if the DMP is not active, then it is understandable what will happen to the rest of the country.”

He further said, “I think that there are international circles or a few countries who want to show that radical Islamists are rising in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is going to Pakistan’s side. In that case, we, including the DMP Commissioner, and the DCs of various zones here, have also told them that they have to play an active role so that this foreign activity is not proven to be true.”

He said, “We have brought to their attention the various incidents that are happening in the recent situation – an incident in Mohammadpur, yesterday’s incident in Banasree and several other incidents, so that the DMP in particular plays an active role in redressing these.”
