The Press Secretary to the Principal Advisor, Shafiqul Alam, has alleged that corruption has occurred in state aid in the power sector. He made these comments at the ‘DJFB Talk’ program at the NEC Conference Room in the capital on Wednesday (February 26).
He said, “Discipline needs to be restored in the energy sector. Discussions are underway with big companies for a permanent solution in the power sector and initiatives have been taken to dig new wells to explore for gas.”
Regarding foreign investment, he said, “Investment will not come unless the efficiency of Chittagong Port is increased. A development plan has been taken for this.”
Regarding the economic situation, he said, “The previous government wasted money, bank money was stolen, a large part of the budget is going to repay loans. However, the economy has turned around in the last six months, which is an amazing achievement.
