Interim government’s religious advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain said that there will be no shortage of soybean oil in the market during Ramadan. Supervision will be carried out along with operating mobile courts to ensure that the prices of consumer goods do not increase.

He said these things in response to questions from journalists after a seminar organized by the Islamic Foundation at the conference room of the Divisional Commissioner in Alampur, Sylhet on Wednesday (February 26) afternoon.

The religious advisor said that in different countries of the world, the prices of daily necessities in the market decrease when the month of Ramadan arrives, but in Bangladesh they are increased by syndicating. This government is playing a role in keeping the prices of goods in the market at a tolerable level for low-income people. At this time, he called on traders to keep the prices of consumer goods within the reach of the common people during Ramadan.

The seminar, chaired by Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza Un Nabi, was also attended by DIG of Police Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, Metropolitan Police Commissioner, and responsible officials of the administration and Islamic Foundation. The speakers at the seminar highlighted the role of imams in protecting the biodiversity of the haor area.
