Operation Devil Hunt arrests 11,313 people till Friday: MSF

11,313 people have been arrested in the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt in the country from February 8 till today, Friday. Most of the arrested people are Awami League members. This information was given by the human rights organization Mandhaka Sanskriti Foundation (MSF).

This information was revealed in the organization’s February human rights report. MSF sent the report to the media on Friday. The organization prepared the report based on media reports and its own investigations.

The report said that the interim government has decided to conduct a special operation called ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ in coordination with joint forces to suppress terrorism in the country, improve the law and order situation and bring terrorists under the law. This operation was launched across the country including Gazipur from February 8. On the night of February 7, 15 to 16 students were attacked at the house of former Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur. After that, the Ministry of Home Affairs decided to conduct Operation Devil Hunt in coordination with law enforcement agencies.

According to information provided by the Police Headquarters, a total of 11,313 people have been arrested under Operation Devil Hunt since the night of February 8, when it began. In addition, 20,372 people have been arrested in various new and old cases in addition to Operation Devil Hunt.
