Three children drowned in separate places in Chandpur. These incidents occurred in Sadar Upazila, Faridganj Upazila, and Hajiganj Upazila from Saturday morning to noon, said Chandpur General Hospital doctor Naser Abul Hasan.

The deceased are – Maimuna, three-year-old daughter of Md. Shahid of Bahria area of ​​Sadar Upazila, Miraj, two-year-old son of Ahmed Sheikh of Bagra Bazar area of ​​Faridganj Upazila, and Junayd, two-year-old son of Saddam of Rajargaon area of ​​Hajiganj Upazila.

Maimuna and Junayd’s family said that there was a pond next to the house. Suddenly, they were missing. Later, they were seen floating in the pond. The family members were busy with family cooking.

Miraj’s family said that on Saturday morning, while playing at home, they drowned in the pond without the family’s knowledge. Later, at one stage of the search, they were taken to the hospital when they floated in the water.

According to hospital sources, three children fell into the pond while playing in the courtyard of their house without the family knowing. Later, when they were brought to the hospital in a lifeless state, the doctor on duty declared them dead.

Doctor Naser Abul Hasan of Chandpur Government General Hospital said, all three children who drowned in the water from morning to noon were brought to the hospital dead.
