I dream that our students will build their future within the country: Education Advisor

Dhaka //

Interim government’s Education Advisor Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar (CR Abrar) said, I dream of an education system where our students can build their future within the country.

He said this after assuming charge as Education Advisor in the meeting room of the Ministry of Education at the Secretariat on Wednesday (March 5).

The Education Advisor said, a big change has taken place in the country. We did not think that we would be able to speak freely like this in our lifetime. The responsibility that the Chief Advisor has given me is a big challenge. The Chief Advisor also said that the journey ahead will not be easy.

CR Abrar said, Education is a big world. We all grew up with the people’s money. So we have a lot of responsibility towards the people.

He said, I think education is the most powerful medium to build a society without discrimination. I dream that our students will see their future within the country. They will be able to lead the world from within the country. I know it may not happen quickly. But we want to create a foundation for this.

Meanwhile, during the handover of responsibility, the recently departed Education Advisor Dr. Wahid Uddin Mahmud said, there have been 5 to 6 Education Commissions in the past. Have they solved the problem? Will the problem be solved by appointing a few people and forming a commission? It will take a long time for them to understand everything. We should have a far-sighted commission.

He said, many people do not know that there is no training system for private sector teachers. Only government teachers are trained in such training centers, including Nayem. However, there are more private educational institutions than government educational institutions. So the new commission will come and take these issues into consideration.

He said, after improving the curriculum, it will not work if there are no trained teachers. It takes a long time for the education system to deteriorate. Our education system is very chaotic and disorganized.

Incidentally, Planning Advisor Wahid Uddin Mahmud was serving as the Education Advisor to the interim government. From today, former professor of the Department of International Relations of Dhaka University, C. R. Abrar, will take over the responsibility of education.
