Decision not to provide legal aid to accused in child rape case

The Magura District Bar Association has decided not to provide legal aid to the accused in the sensational child rape case. The decision was announced during a human chain organized by the District Bar Association demanding the hanging of those involved in the child rape incident at the sister’s house.

The program was held in front of the Magura District Judge’s Court on Monday (March 10) morning.

The human chain was addressed by District Bar Association General Secretary Advocate Shahed Hasan Tagor, Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal PP Advocate Monirul Islam Mukul, Advocate Roknuzzaman Khan, Advocate Farhana Khanam Beauty and many others.

The General Secretary of the District Bar Association said that a policy decision has been taken in the executive meeting of the District Bar Association not to provide any legal aid to the accused in the heinous rape case of Magura. We have assured the family of the child victim that we will work hard to complete the trial of the case as soon as possible. We also demand that the accused be given the maximum punishment (death penalty).
