A Chhatra Dal activist named Apurba lost his life after being stabbed by a miscreant while trying to stop a fight in Narayanganj. The incident took place at around 10 pm on Sunday in the Chashara Balur Math area of ​​Narayanganj city. At that time, locals caught a miscreant named Samrat and beat him up and handed him over to the police.

The deceased Apurba (30) is the son of Khokon Mia of Masdair area of ​​Fatullah. He is known to have been associated with Chhatra Dal politics.

Citing eyewitnesses, former joint convener of Metropolitan Chhatra Dal Azizul Islam Rajib said that a procession was held in Chashara area at night to protest against the nationwide rape and murder. Apurba was also there. After the procession, Apurba, Rajib and several others were heading towards Narayanganj Press Club. At one stage, Apurba fell behind.

At that time, the miscreants were arguing with an elder in front of a tea shop in Balur Math area. Seeing this, Apurba went to stop them. At that time, one of the miscreants stabbed Apurba in the chest. Later, the locals arrested a person named Samrat, beat him up and took Apurba to the hospital.

Fatullah Model Police Station OC Shariful Islam said, “The doctor from the emergency department of Khanpur Hospital said that Apurba was brought to the hospital dead. Another person injured in the mob beating was taken to the hospital. The injured Samrat was arrested from there.”
