Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will have Iftar with about 100,000 Rohingya in Cox’s Bazar next Friday.
Chief Advisor’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder gave this information at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Wednesday.
This Iftar party has been organized at the Rohingya refugee camp on the initiative of the Chief Advisor.
According to sources from the relevant government departments, the Iftar will include chickpeas, muri, onion, jilapi, beeguni, pepper, sherbet and various related foods.
It is learned that the UN Secretary-General is coming to Bangladesh tomorrow (Thursday) on a four-day visit. Earlier, Khalilur Rahman, the Special Envoy of the Principal Advisor on Rohingya and Priority Issues, met with the UN Secretary-General in New York on February 7 and handed over the invitation sent by the Principal Advisor.
