Heavy floods have affected 11 districts of the country. Of these, a total of 27 people died in seven districts.
This information was informed in a statement of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief of the government at 1 pm on Tuesday.
Among the dead are 10 in Comilla, one in Feni, five in Chittagong, one in Khagrachari, five in Noakhali, one in Brahmanbaria, one in Laxmipur and three in Cox’s Bazar.
And 2 people are missing; They are residents of Moulvibazar.
11 districts affected by flood. They are – Feni, Comilla, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Lakshipur and Cox’s Bazar.
74 upazilas flooded and 541 affected unions/municipalities. A total of 12,07,429 families have become waterlogged in 11 districts. The number of people affected is 56,19,375.
A total of 3,886 shelters have been opened to provide shelter to waterlogged/damaged people and a total of 5,09,728 people and 34,421 cattle have been sheltered in the shelters. A total of 620 medical teams are operational to provide medical care to the victims of 11 districts.
According to the statement, the distribution of relief from all levels, including public and private, is continuing in the flood-affected areas.
Mobile and telephone connections have been restored in flood affected districts.
