The new Education Advisor Chowdhury Rafiqul (CR) Abrar said that the interim government will focus on establishing good governance and reforms to overcome the crisis in the education sector.
He said that the previous Awami League government looted thousands of crores of taka. They have damaged the education sector in various ways. The education sector and the education system are now on the brink of a terrible crisis.
He said these things as the chief guest at a discussion meeting on ‘Past, Present and Future of Madrasa Education’ at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha in the capital on Wednesday.
The Education Advisor said that madrasa students should be made suitable for social life. A science-based education system should be formulated and ensured for them.
He said that many militants were organized in the past because of clothes. Those involved in this should be brought to justice. If there is any crime in the madrasa, they should be investigated and those involved should be punished.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. K. M. Kabirul Islam, Secretary of the Madrasa and Technical Education Department of the Ministry of Education. Officials from various levels of the ministry and department, madrasa principals, and teachers and students participated in the meeting.
