BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, today we are going through a very difficult time. Even though we have a fascism-free environment, we still cannot find the path of democracy. A democratic Bangladesh is our main desire.
He said these things in his speech as the president at the BNP’s Iftar Mahfil at the Ladies Club in Eskaton in the capital on Wednesday.
The party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman joined the event virtually from London as the chief guest. The Iftar turned into a gathering of political party leaders in Eskaton.
Emphasizing unity, the BNP Secretary General said that unity is very necessary at this moment. Resolve problems through discussion. He also promised to implement the party’s 31 points if BNP is elected by the people’s vote.
Stating that there is no alternative to going the path of democracy, the BNP Secretary General said, I am clearly talking about early elections. Because, the people’s elected government is formed. The elected government will make the necessary reforms.
He said, the reform proposals in various sectors have already reached the political parties. I request them to observe them in depth and give their opinions. So that we can move forward with everyone.
Jamaat Naib-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher said, Bangladesh is moving forward in a test today. On August 5, we achieved a huge success. The root of it was the unity of all classes of people. We all united in every issue and fought against tyranny. I think that national unity will still be the most powerful tool to build a beautiful and prosperous state in the future of Bangladesh. Keeping this unity, we will definitely try to implement what is needed from each place here. On behalf of Jamaat, I request everyone for national unity on four points. One- Independence and sovereignty in Bangladesh, there will be no compromise here, two- A sustainable democracy, three- A fair election, four- A corruption-free Bangladesh.

Oli Ahmed, Jatiya Party (Jafar) Chairman Mustafa Jamal Haider, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Gana Sanghati Andolan Chief Coordinator Jonayed Saki, Gana Adhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, among others, addressed the Iftar Mahfil hosted by BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku. Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Amir Mamunul Haque led the prayers.
