Five people, including children, were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Ishwardi, Pabna. Two more were seriously injured in the incident. Their condition is also critical.
The accident occurred around 5:30 pm on Thursday in the Dhulti Baharpur area of the Ishwardi-Dashuria highway in the upazila. The names and identities of the casualties were not immediately known.
Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam said that four people were killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw. Another person died after being taken to the hospital. Two more were seriously injured in the incident. They have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
The bus driver and helper fled immediately after the incident. The bus has been seized.
