The low pressure over North West Bay of Bengal and adjoining southern Bangladesh is currently in the form of a pronounced low pressure over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas. As a result, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to heavy rain.
The Meteorological Office said this in the forecast for the next 72 hours from 6 pm on Tuesday (August 27).
It said, the low pressure located over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining southern Bangladesh is currently in the form of a pronounced low pressure over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas. The extension of the monsoon axis extends over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, a prominent low pressure center and southern Bangladesh into Assam. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay of Bengal.
It has also been said that in the next 24 hours from 6 pm on August 27, many places in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds temporarily. Also, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.
Day temperature may increase by (1-2) degrees Celsius and night temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country.
The weather forecast on Wednesday (August 28) has said that light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thundershowers will occur temporarily in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and some places of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions in the next 24 hours from 6 pm today. may be Also, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.
The temperature may decrease slightly in Rangpur, Sylhet and Mymensingh. Also, the day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged there.
