Rubel Molla, his son, hacked his father to death while cutting trees in Naria, Shariatpur. When he tried to escape after the murder, Rubel himself died of cardiac arrest. This tragic incident took place on Sunday night in Cherag Ali Bepari Kandi area of ​​Char Union of Moktar in the upazila.

The deceased, Maqbul Hossain Molla (65), is the son of Hamizzuddin Molla of that area. And his son, Rubel Molla, was 33 years old.

Locals said that Maqbul Hossain Molla had married twice. After the death of his first wife, he married for the second time and his second family created tension with the children of his first wife, especially with his eldest son, Rubel Molla.

On Sunday evening, an argument broke out between the father and son over the cutting of a mango tree. At one point, Rubel got angry and stabbed Maqbul Hossain with a sharp weapon, seriously injuring him. Locals rescued him and took him to the Jajira Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead.

After killing his father, Rubel tried to escape. However, while running, he suddenly collapsed in the field next to the house. Later, locals found his lifeless body and informed the police. The police went to the spot and recovered the body.

New Michael, a member of Ward No. 8 of Moktar’s Char Union Parishad, said that the deceased Maqbul Molla had planted some mango saplings in his new house. Rubel cut a sapling from there, which became the cause of his dispute with his father.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naria Police Station Aslam Uddin Molla said that the son killed his father due to a family dispute. After that, the son’s body was also found in the field next to the house. Initially, it is believed that he died due to cardiac arrest. The entire incident will be investigated and further legal action will be taken.
