The police are hiding and trading cases between the two parties in Baralekha of Moulvibazar district. This has created a sensation in the local area.

It is known that on Monday morning, March 17, at the behest of Deepal Das, son of the deceased Ravi Das of Tuka village, allegedly an Awami Dosar, in Maharani Daser Bazar village of the upazila, 10/12 terrorists armed with country-made weapons attacked the residence of Ruby Das and his family members. At that time, when the members of the Vaishnava family came forward in self-defense, a clash broke out between them. At least ten people from both sides were injured.

After investigation, it was learned that the incident took place at Ruby Das’ residence around 9:30 am on Monday (March 17). Later, when both parties filed a complaint with Baralekha police station, the police disappeared the charge sheet of Ruby Das.

The next day, on March 18, the police hastily registered the case of Awami League member Deepal Das without conducting a proper investigation. In this, the police investigating officer Subrata Chandra Das ignored the correct information and filed a biased case. He mentioned that the incident had taken place on March 16. However, on Sunday (March 16), no one had clashed with Ruby Das, nor did any of her goats go to the opponent’s vegetable field. This clearly shows that the police had registered this case without investigating after extorting a large sum of money.

If we look at the allegations, it is seen that in addition to a disabled old man of about 75 years old, two minor girls were accused in the case for the purpose of harassment. In addition, Vaishnav Madan Das Nantu was attacked by the opponents while trying to avoid a clash. Then, counter-attacks and clashes began.

It is learnt from the locals that on the day and date of the incident, when one of their goats went to the vegetable field, the opponent Bimal Das started beating the goat. At that time, when Ruby Das’ niece Tinni saw the incident and protested, Bimal Das abused her in obscene language and chased her away. Later, Tinni went home and informed the family members about the incident. At one stage, when they sought justice against Bimal Das in the local area, Bimal and other miscreants became even more angry. On Deepal’s orders, they entered the house and attacked the Vaishnav family. Vaishnav Nantu, Rintu, Pinku, Mintu and other members of his family including the woman were seriously injured in the attack by the opponent. Another 2/3 of the opponent were injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, locals differed on Nantu Das and told the reporter that when Vaishnav Nantu Das went forward to resolve the matter, a man named Shankar hit him on the left hand with a stick. Later, the incident turned into a clash. At least ten people from both sides were injured in the clash. The injured were rescued by locals and sent to various hospitals and clinics.

The competition of case-counter cases began. This led to the police’s baseless discrimination. Bargaining ensued. Ruby Das’ complaint disappeared after not paying the police. She kept going door to door.

Finally, on March 25, when the matter came to the attention of the media, the Barolekha police station was shaken. This time, when another complaint was filed with the police station in a new form, the OC himself took note of the matter. But there too, bribery transactions continued. SI Newton snatched a bag of money from a relative of Ruby Das. An audio recording of which is in the possession of the reporter. However, SI Newton denied the bribery and told the reporter, where did you get this information? If you had received it, you would have reported it. In response to another question, he said that the case was considered an FIR yesterday, March 26, and that he could not say anything else, so he disconnected his mobile phone.

On the other hand, when asked about the case of Shankar Das’ fabricated FIR for the purpose of concealment and false information, when he spoke to the investigating officer SI Subrata Chandra Das on his mobile phone, he admitted to the reporter that the clash occurred on the morning of March 16 and that no incident occurred on March 17.
In response to another question, he said that the plaintiff in the case can tell the date of the incident. When asked whether the case was recorded after investigation at that time, he could not give any good answer. However, for some unknown reason, the day and date of the incident are mentioned separately in the charge sheet given by Shankar.
When asked about another matter, he said that the two accused in this case were arrested last night, and there too, he brought the date and time of the incident forward by a day to March 16 and handed the accused over to the court. On the other hand, SI Newton, the investigating officer in the case of Ruby Das, has not been able to arrest any accused yet due to mysterious reasons. Such a shameful role of the police has created a sensation in the local area.
In this regard, when the officer-in-charge of Barolekha Police Station, Md. Abul Kashem Sarkar, spoke on his mobile phone, he said that the matter of extortion is being investigated. He avoided other issues. However, he said that if any disabled elderly person or child girl is made an accused, they will be dropped after further investigation.

When contacted on his mobile phone, Moulvibazar District Police Superintendent M.K.H. Jahangir Hossain, he spoke in a responsible manner, saying that if the SI takes money, the case will not be filed with the FIR, the OC will file the case. You should inform the OC. When the OC was informed, he told the reporter, then see what decision he makes. In response to another question, he said that if the plaintiff accuses someone, the police have nothing to do there. He said that if the case is found innocent during the charge sheet, they will be acquitted. At this time, when asked about the case record by giving him false information, he avoided the issue and said, if you sit with the OC of the police station with the case paper, you will get a solution to all the problems!

As of the time of writing this report, a source said that when Ruby Das informed the journalists about the matter, SI Subrata and Newton of the police station got angry and started trying various tricks to harass them. Currently, the plaintiff and his family are suffering from extreme insecurity.
