There has been no rise in militancy in the country, nor is there any possibility of it, said Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd). He said that since the interim government took office, there has been no rise in militancy in the country, nor is there any such possibility.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Home Affairs Advisor visited six police stations (Khilkhet, Bhatara, Badda, Rampura, Hatirjheel and Tejgaon Industrial Area) in the capital for the purpose of exchanging Eid greetings and Eid reunions. Later, he said this in response to a question during a briefing with journalists.
Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that the law and order situation in the country is currently satisfactory, which has room for further improvement. Efforts are being made to gradually improve it.
The Home Affairs Advisor said that several police stations in the capital are operating in rented buildings. As a result, on the one hand, the people are facing problems, on the other hand, the police stations are also unable to provide the desired quality of service.
He said, we are trying to relocate the police stations to their own places as soon as possible by constructing buildings. If the police stations are in good places, the people will benefit, and the police stations will be more active and it will be easier to carry out their activities.
Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said, everyone is on vacation. Only the law enforcement agencies are not on vacation. They are performing their duties relentlessly to provide overall security, including protecting the lives and property of the people. He said, the law enforcement agencies are vigilant and active so that the general public can sleep peacefully.
At this time, the advisor further said that the police have been given necessary instructions so that no innocent and innocent person is harassed. In addition, instructions have also been given so that no terrorist or criminal gets a break. Those who commit misdeeds will not be given any break.
