Dhaka //
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the defeated power has reported with false information in the New York Times. The allies of fascism own thousands of crores of illegal money. They are trying to tarnish Bangladesh by using their illegal money.
He said these things while talking to the media at the central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Wednesday morning.
This senior BNP leader said that there has been no rise of extremism in Bangladesh. On the contrary, there is no threat of fascism in Bangladesh at present, people are practicing their religion peacefully. They are able to speak. They celebrated Eid without fear, there was no violence of fascism. In the past, no one could celebrate Eid with ease. Which was not possible during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure.
He said that the allies of the Awami League are spreading disinformation worldwide. Sheikh Hasina has shown the world the drama that Hasina has played in the name of suppressing militants. This was his political strategy to stay in power. It has also been mentioned in the book of a former IGP.
Rizvi said, Awami League is not sitting still, spending black money to tarnish Bangladesh’s image. Awami League is tarnishing Bangladesh’s image abroad by earning illegal money. Awami League is carrying out subversive activities.
Rizvi said, he has no regrets in any of his statements regarding the way the Faiz-Faiyaz were shot dead on the orders of Sheikh Hasina. Awami League leaders who have fled abroad are trying to create instability and confuse the country. Awami League’s cronies are sitting around the administration.
He also said, some advisors are spreading misinformation against BNP. Some advisors are conspiring against BNP. One advisor had conspired against BNP in 2007 as well. He is doing it again this time.
A farmer committed suicide in Meherpur after not getting the price of onion. The advisors are not talking about them. If they had broken the syndicate, the farmer would have received fair wages for his produce. The BNP leader mentioned that 20-25 people had lost their lives on the roads in the last two days and said that if the administration had worked hard, so many people would not have lost their lives on the roads.
He said that it is important to introduce a democratic system in the country. There needs to be accountability of the government. It is malicious that some advisors are defaming the BNP by ignoring their own work.
Rizvi said that Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman have wished the countrymen Eid.
He called for the necessary reforms to be implemented as soon as possible and for elections to be held. An electoral government is a legitimate government. Delaying elections is unacceptable to the common people. If the specific date of the elections is not clarified, it will create confusion. Dr. Muhammad Yunus was called upon to take quick action in this regard, Rizvi Ahmed said.
