Yemeni armed forces clashed with several warships, including the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, in the northern Red Sea.

In a statement on Sunday, the Yemeni forces said they used cruise missiles and drones to attack US warships. The clash lasted for hours. As a result, the US forces failed to launch new attacks.

The statement also said, “The steadfast support of the Yemeni government and nation for the Palestinian people will continue. The Yemeni forces will continue their retaliatory operations until the aggression on Gaza is stopped and the siege is lifted.”

Meanwhile, Yemen’s state news agency Saba reported, citing local sources, that US forces carried out five airstrikes on Kamran Island in Hodeidah province early Sunday.

Allegations of attack on Eid al-Fitr gathering

Another report said that US President Donald Trump had claimed that the US had targeted a meeting of Yemeni commanders to plan a secret naval operation.

However, Saba news agency quoted a source as saying that the video posted by Trump was of a general Eid al-Fitr gathering. It was held in Hudaydah province. There was no military connection to it.

The source added, “This is a US crime. Dozens of people were killed in this attack. This proves that the US aggression in Yemen has failed and is facing defeat. However, the US-Israeli genocide and occupation in Gaza are continuing.” Source: IRNA
