Attacks on businesses, failure of law enforcement agencies noteworthy: Salah Uddin

Dhaka //

BNP Standing Committee member Salah Uddin Ahmed said that the failure of the interim government and law enforcement agencies in the protests against Israel’s aggression and attacks on businesses in different parts of the country is noteworthy.

He said these things at a protest rally organized by Chhatra Dal in front of the Raju Statue of Dhaka University on Tuesday afternoon to protest the barbaric massacres in Gaza and Rafah.

Salah Uddin Ahmed said, “We will boycott all Israeli products, but that does not mean we will attack businesses. Yesterday (Monday), some establishments were attacked in different parts of Bangladesh. The failure of the government here is notable. The failure of the law enforcement agencies is notable. They should have been careful here in advance. Then Bangladesh would not have had to bear this disgrace today.”

He said that the previous fascist government had indirectly recognized Israel. They removed the words ‘travel to all countries except Israel’ from Bangladeshi passports. Yet they also made a fuss about the Muslims of Bangladesh. They started the torture against all democratic parties in Bangladesh by using wiretapping devices, which Pegasus bought from Israel.

Salah Uddin also said that fifty to sixty thousand people were killed in the Israeli genocide. Those who died due to malnutrition, those who died without receiving medical treatment, should also be considered victims of this genocide.

The BNP leader said that a large program will be announced soon on behalf of the Palestinian people on behalf of BNP to protest against Israel’s barbaric aggression across the country and centrally.

Speaking as a special guest, BNP Student Affairs Secretary Rakibul Islam Bakul called for a boycott of Israeli products. He said, ‘I condemn the countries that are standing idly by despite seeing the genocide in Gaza. Despite the highest human rights violations, many human rights organizations are doing nothing. Even after the indiscriminate killing of millions of people in Gaza, the United Nations is doing nothing. Wherever Israeli products are present, there must be a boycott.’

In the president’s speech, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib said, ‘There are no words that can explain Israel’s atrocities. Since 2023, they have killed more than 51,000 people. Students around the world have already joined the streets, ignoring the bloodshed.’

The Chhatra Dal President condemned the recent decision to cancel the ‘student visas’ of more than four hundred foreign students, including five Bangladeshis, in the United States for participating in protests against Israel. He also condemned the attacks on various businesses from the solidarity rally for Palestine.

He said that this heinous incident has tarnished the image of Bangladesh. Such a huge failure of the government cannot be accepted. At this time, he called for immediate action against those who attacked various institutions. He also condemned the recent passage of the Waqf Bill to amend the Muslim Property Management Act in the Indian Parliament and demanded its immediate repeal.

Chhatra Dal Central General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, Dhaka University President Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahas, General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon and other leaders and activists at various levels were also present at the rally.
