Bangladesh and the United States enjoy a lasting relationship: US State Department

The United States has signed the Artemis Agreement with Bangladesh. The country has welcomed Bangladesh for signing the agreement. A statement issued by the US State Department on Thursday welcomed Bangladesh.

In the statement, the US State Department said that Bangladesh became the 54th signatory to the Artemis Agreement at the 2025 Investment Summit on April 8. The Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the country, Mohammad Ashraf Uddin, signed the Artemis Agreement on behalf of the Bangladesh government in the presence of US Charge d’Affaires in Bangladesh, Tracy Jacobson.

The statement further said that the United States and Bangladesh have enjoyed a lasting relationship for more than 50 years. We are committed to continuing this relationship with Bangladesh to work for economic development and regional security in the Indo-Pacific region.

The US State Department statement said that by signing the Artemis Agreement, Bangladesh dreams of peaceful exploration in space.

In 2020, the United States and seven countries formed Artemis. Since then, Bangladesh has joined a total of 54 countries in this alliance. The goal of this alliance is to implement peaceful space exploration and other issues.
