The National Revolutionary Council has protested at the premises of the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram, demanding the liberation of Palestine, Arakan and Kashmir to protect the oppressed Muslims from ethnic oppression.

The protest was held at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram after Friday prayers. A large number of worshippers joined the party’s leaders and activists.

They raised slogans such as ‘Free Free Palestine’, ‘Free Free Arakan’, ‘Free Free Kashmir’, ‘The world is one’, ‘Stop the occupation of Gaza’, ‘The Muslims of the world are one’, fight’, ‘Break the black hand of Israel, crush it’, ‘Break the black hand of India, crush it’, ‘Break the black hand of Myanmar, crush it’ etc.

The protest was chaired by Mohammad Shamsuddin, senior joint convener of the National Revolutionary Council, and was attended by joint convener Syed Qutub, assistant member secretaries Abdus Salam and Ghalib Ihsan, central committee members Tofail Ahmed and Wasim Ahmed; Revolutionary Students Council convener Abdul Wahed, member secretary Fazlur Rahman, assistant member secretary Ashraful Islam, Dhaka University branch joint convener Golam Nur Shafayetullah and assistant member secretary Farzayan Ahsan Kritit, among others.

Mohammad Shamsuddin said at the protest, “Today, not only Bangladesh, but Muslims all over the world have raised their voices against the heinous genocide committed by the occupying Israeli forces in Gaza. We all demand that UN peacekeepers be deployed in Gaza immediately to protect the oppressed Palestinians. The Israeli government and army members involved in genocide and crimes against humanity must be brought to justice.”

He further said, “We, along with the oppressed people of Palestine, protest against the ethnic oppression against our two oppressed Muslim nations of this region, the Muslims of Indian-occupied Kashmir and the Rohingyas of Myanmar-occupied Arakan. We want the Bangladesh government to take regular action in international forums including the United Nations to protect our neighboring Muslim brothers.”

The senior joint convener of the National Revolutionary Council called on the world to continue boycotting all Israeli-owned and pro-Israeli brands. He said, “If you buy Israeli products, they use the money to make bombs and kill Palestinian Muslims. Therefore, we must continue boycotting Israeli products.”

Assistant Member Secretary of the National Revolutionary Council, Ghalib Ihsan, said that the interim government and political parties of Bangladesh had been silent for a long time in protest against the Israeli occupation of Gaza, Palestine. However, the students involved in the July Revolution ended the silence of the National Revolutionary Council on December 16, two months after the formation of the party. Our party had organized a protest on the Baitul Mukarram premises on February 7 and announced that ‘Bangladesh will not forget Palestine, but rather students will protest for Palestine every Friday’. Alhamdulillah, now the entire country, including BNP-Jamaat, has come out for Palestine.

He said, we have been protesting for a month since February 15 to reprint ‘Except Israel’ on Bangladeshi passports in recognition of Israel as an illegal state. After that, the Home Affairs Advisor told us that he is positive about reprinting ‘Except Israel’. But since the Foreign Ministry has not taken any initiative, our demands have not been met yet. In this situation, we will take the initiative to launch a tough movement around the Foreign Ministry.

This leader of the National Revolutionary Council said, we will not stop by marching for one or two days. Rather, the National Revolutionary Council’s Friday protests will continue until Palestine is liberated. InshaAllah, this program will be expanded to all major cities, districts, and universities in the coming days.
