Finally, Bangladeshi-origin Canadian expatriate footballer Samit Som has kept his word. He has given the green light to play in the Bangladesh jersey. This talented footballer has made this decision to play for his roots and for the country.
Samit is currently having a busy time in the Canadian top league. The midfielder is fighting for the championship for the Premier League team Cavalry FC. The work of making his passport will begin after receiving Samit’s birth certificate next week.
Since he has played two friendly matches for the Canadian national team, he will need a clearance from the Canada Football Association as well as the FIFA Players Committee to play for Bangladesh.
Since the process of obtaining a passport and clearance is a long process, there are doubts about Samit’s game in the June window. However, although the process is very long, the BFF is trying to complete the formalities as quickly as possible.
