At that time, Professor Ali Riaz said that although the initiative for state reform was taken by the interim government, this demand is actually the people’s. He mentioned that the Consensus Commission will be able to find a specific path for state reform through this process.

The National Consensus Commission has been formed under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government, to build a national consensus on reforms. The commission began its activities on February 15. Among the reform commissions formed in the first phase, the Constitutional Reform Commission, the Public Administration Reform Commission, the Electoral Reform Commission, the Judiciary Reform Commission and the Anti-Corruption Commission requested political parties to provide specific opinions on the important recommendations mentioned in the report of the reform commission, and the recommendations were sent to 39 political parties in the form of a spreadsheet. So far, the commission has received opinions from 32 political parties.

The National Consensus Commission began formal discussions on March 20 to finalize the recommendations made by the reform commissions. The commission has already completed initial discussions with seven political parties.
