The whole of India is now heated up over the passage of the amended Waqf Bill. The law passed under the Modi government against Muslims is also causing a heated situation in Bangladesh. In this situation, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has strongly criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing the heated situation in Bangladesh on the Waqf issue. She has also called on Modi to be patient with Muslims and control India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Amit Shah was the target of Mamata Banerjee throughout much of her speech at the Imam-Moazzem conference at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Wednesday. She has blamed Shah for the unrest in various places over the amended Waqf Act. The Chief Minister has also raised allegations about the use of technology to spread fake news and the role of the BSF.
Prime Minister Modi could not escape Mamata’s attacks today. She asked why the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed in a hurry without considering the situation in Bangladesh. Addressing Modi, Mamata said, ‘Don’t you know the situation in Bangladesh? What was the rush? West Bengal is a state bordering Bangladesh. You are secretly meeting with Yunus, making agreements. Do what you have to do. If it is good for the country, I have nothing to say.’
Addressing Amit Shah, Mamata said, ‘You will never become the Prime Minister. What will happen to you if Modiji becomes the Prime Minister? You will have to crawl.’
Then, addressing the Prime Minister, Mamata said, ‘I request Modiji to control that man. All the agencies are in the hands of one man. He is using them as he can.’
Mamata’s request to the minorities, ‘Be patient for a year. There will be a lot of changes in Delhi. If there is a new government, I hope Hamaguribabu will not enter.’
