Elder brother Ruel Mia (24) was killed by his younger brother due to a family dispute in Chunarughat, Habiganj. Police have arrested the murderer, younger brother Jasim Mia (22).

The deceased Ruel Mia is the son of the deceased Abu Mia of Daulatkha Abad village of Paikpara Uniom of the upazila.

Police said that on the afternoon of April 16, elder brother Ruel Mia cut a tree and placed it in front of the house. Later, when Jasim Mia used the part of the tree to build a fence around the tubewell, an argument started between the two brothers. At one point, Jasim Mia got excited and hit Ruel on the back of the neck with a tree branch. Ruel was seriously injured.

Locals immediately rescued him in critical condition and took him to Chunarughat Upazila Health Complex. From there, he was sent to Sylhet for advanced treatment. He later died in a hospital in Sylhet on Wednesday (April 16) midnight.

Chunarughat Police Station (OC) Nur Alam said that the police have already visited the scene after receiving the information. Also, the killer Jasim was arrested in a raid conducted at night. He is being interrogated at the police station. Legal action will be taken in view of the complaint.
