Friendly football match held in Jaintapur for Hemu Bhatpara Football Club

A friendly football match has been held in Jaintapur Upazila, Sylhet, for Hemu Bhatpara Football Club of Fatepur Union No. 5.

The game was held at 3:30 pm on Friday (April 18) at the field adjacent to Hemu Karicheh Pool in the upazila.

Under the chairmanship of prominent social worker and London expatriate Sheikh Abdul Khaliq and jointly conducted by student leaders Sultan and Shamim Ahmed, Faisal Ahmed Bablu, President of Bangladesh Human Rights Journalists Commission and Sylhet senior journalist of the national daily Samakal, was present as the chief guest.
In his speech, the chief guest said that sports not only provide entertainment, but also improve physical and mental health. Today’s young generation should be guided towards success in future life by bringing back drug addiction and discipline.
He further said, sports unite us and build a bond of harmony. He remembered the late former BNP leader and Finance Minister M Saifur Rahman and said that he was a sports lover. His past history is intertwined with this traditional field. At the same time, he said, keeping the youth involved in sports should play a special role in the development of the country. Therefore, there is no alternative to sports.

Special guests present on the stage were Arun Sarkar, senior journalist of English national dailies The Daily Morning Glory and The Daily Morning Sun, Alhaj Fakhrul Islam, advisor of Jatiyatabadi Probashi Online Parishad, Amir of Jamaat Islami Bangladesh 5th Fatehpur UP branch Hafiz Kamrul Islam Babar, General Secretary of Kuwait branch of Jaintapur Probashi Kalyan Trust Md. Zakaria, Team Manager of Hemu Bhatpara Club Md. Zakaria Ahmed Laden, Coach of The Jainta Football Academy Enam Ahmed, Team Manager Abdul Qayyum, Founder of Mother and Sons Shamim Ahmed, prominent social worker and businessman Mostafa Kamal, Ward 2 BNP President Monir Ahmed, sports enthusiasts Md. Badrul Islam, Md. Liton Ahmed, Md. Rafiq Ahmed, Md. Abdul Hannan, Md. Kalai Mia, Md. Nizam Uddin and many others.

Abdullah Ilias, Member Secretary of Jaintapur Upazila Volunteer Party, was present as the main speaker.

Dhansiri Football Club Bhatpara faced The Jainta Football Academy in a friendly football match. Dhansiri Football Club Bhatpara lost 2-0.

Former footballer Md. Bashir Uddin served as the main referee for the game and former footballers Mahfuz Ahmed and Kawsar Ahmed were the assistants.

At the end of the game, the chief guest presented the winning prizes to The Jainta Football Academy players.
