A total of 390 people including identified terrorists, drug dealers and absconding accused have been arrested across the country in joint force operations in the last seven days (April 10-17).
This information was given in a press release sent by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.
The release said that the Bangladesh Army has been working with professionalism across the country to maintain law and order in the current situation in the country. In continuation of this, from April 10 to April 17, a joint operation was conducted in the country including the capital by various infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army and other law enforcement agencies. In this operation, a total of 390 criminals including listed terrorists, identified miscreants, robbers, extortionists, absconding accused in multiple cases, kidnappers, juvenile gang members, drug dealers, drug addicts and members of broker gangs were arrested red-handed.
Meanwhile, 10 illegal firearms, 46 different types of ammunition, narcotics, various types of domestic weapons used for terrorist activities, stolen mobile phones, laptops, foreign currency and cash were recovered from the arrested criminals. The detainees have been handed over to the police station of the concerned area for necessary interrogation and legal proceedings.
In addition, the army has conducted patrols and security activities in various areas to ensure security around the festivals held at various places on the occasion of the Bengali New Year 1432 and the New Year of the Minorities. The army has provided overall security to the business establishments in the wake of attacks, vandalism and looting incidents. In addition, patrols are being conducted nationwide to ensure the security of various centers for the ongoing SSC and equivalent examinations, and such operations are being continued by the Bangladesh Army to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. The general public is requested to provide information to the nearest army camp about any suspicious activities.
