BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, some are saying that if elections are held without reforms, it is doubtful whether the party that comes to power will be able to reform. However, reform is a political commitment. The party that is elected will have to pass the parliament.

He said, who is benefiting from creating such confusion? We have fought together in the democratic struggle. If misunderstandings grow within us, the students and the masses who are the last to protest, fascism will try to raise its head.

He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the seminar titled ‘Freedom-Sovereignty and Multi-Party Democracy and Ziaur Rahman’ organized by the Zia Parishad Natore branch at the Anima Chowdhury Auditorium in Natore town on Saturday afternoon.

Rizvi said, India considered our Bangladesh as a subservient state. Who will obey them, who will be on their side, they wanted to take Bangladesh under their control by taking them (A. League). That is why the fascists fell in the mass uprising of the students and the public that shook the world and Hasina fled to that country (India). Sheikh Hasina-free Bangladesh is a cause of great heartache for them (India).

In his speech as the main speaker at the event, BNP central leader and former deputy minister Advocate M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu said, those who are conspiring to postpone the elections, should remember that the people of Bangladesh are not stupid. Our appeal to the current government to announce the election date as soon as possible and prepare for the elections. Liberate the people of the country.
