Special Representative //
Palash Das, the top Awami League associate of the Karer Par area of Jalalabad police station in Sylhet city, is still out of reach of law. But his running is not stopping in any way. He is roaming around with bravery under the nose of the administration.
There are allegations that a big top terrorist lathi-powered army is operating under his leadership in the Karer Par area. He was once a pharmacy employee in the Ragib Rabeya Medical College area. However, his rise began after the Awami League government came to power. In just seven years, he went from zero to the owner of millions of taka.
He continued to work as a confidant of the late former mayor of Sylhet City Corporation and Awami League leader Badruddin Ahmed Kamran and Councilor No. 8 Jagadish Chandra Das. At one stage, Jagadish’s nephew Bidyut used electricity as a tool to build a terrorist force in the local area. Keeping the banned Chhatra League in the forefront, he used to conduct all kinds of misdeeds with the help of Jubo League officials. It was common for him to travel to remote areas of the country and abroad for entertainment several times a year. Although he did not strategically share any position in the Awami League, he used to run the drug pharmacies set up around the Ragib Rabeya Medical College Hospital gate under his control. He himself used to lead the association anonymously under the guise of power. To hide his misdeeds, Ragib Rabeya set up a so-called drug shop called Messrs. Global Pharmacy at the gate of the Medical College. The entire terrorist force gathered there. Motorcycle patrols would go out after evening. He held protest marches and meetings in front of the fallen government. He also spent a large amount of money to suppress the student movement against discrimination.
It has been found that even though the fascist Hasina fled in the face of the student-public movement on August 5, this rogue is trying to hide himself in public as a businessman in a drug pharmacy.
The owners of several drug pharmacies there, who did not want to be named, said that a group of Jubo League cadres led by Palash used to collect extortion from various pharmacies in broad daylight. Even in recent times, the nationalist party has continued the extortion business with their associates to put the BNP in trouble.
The investigation has confirmed the authenticity of this by examining several CCTV footages. The video footage of this is preserved by the reporter. They all used to collect this extortion in the Karer Par area under the leadership of Palash Das. A large part of the extortion distribution used to go into the pockets of Councilor Jagadish. The remaining extortion was taken by the Councilor’s nephew Bidyut himself. In this way, he became a millionaire from zero in a short time. Currently, he is living in a luxurious five-story house in Karer Para, Mohona B/75 Dev Bari, Jalalabad Police Station area of Sadar. Although his permanent address is in Jagannathpur, Sunamganj district, Karer Par has grown branches. It is mysterious but true that no one dares to protest against him in the local area due to fear of murder, disappearance and loss of life. Even many journalists refrain from publishing news due to fear of assault cases.
Meanwhile, a reliable source said that Palash is establishing secret contact with several top local fugitive leaders and activists of Sylhet city. He has a huge amount of cash in his custody of some of the fugitives. He is also in contact with some fugitives in India. He is not willing to talk to anyone on the mobile phone. However, he does not hesitate to share his words fluently on WhatsApp. Now he is continuing all kinds of efforts to keep the Awami League party fascists in the country vocal. The source further said that he is trying to establish good relations with some pro-BNP leaders and activists by posing as a businessman behind the scenes of the fascists.
When Palash was contacted on his mobile phone, he said, “I do not know Badruddin Ahmed Kamran, Councilor Jagadish and his nephew Bidyut.” At this time, he said, “Yes, I have traveled abroad several times, but I have been to India 2/3 times for my treatment. I am not a leader or activist of any party. I may have pictures with many people for the sake of business, but nothing more than that.” He said, “I have not participated in any procession or rally.” At one point in the conversation, he told the reporter, “I will meet you tomorrow, Wednesday,” and then disconnected.
