Dhaka //
A notification was issued on Tuesday regarding the new monogram or logo and uniform of the Bangladesh Police. The new logo has the national flower lotus floating in the water, images of rice and wheat ears on both sides. Three jute leaves are attached to the top, and the word ‘Police’ is written below.
Police headquarters sources said that with the issuance of the notification, this logo will now have to be used on everything including police uniforms, vehicles, signboards, establishments and documents. For this, a letter has been sent to all police units in advance with a message to make necessary preparations. The letter requested to prepare for the use of the changed logo on flags, signboards, uniforms and other items used by the district or unit.
Those concerned said that the sailing boat has been omitted from the new police logo. Along with the logo, the notification also contains a detailed description of the new uniform.
After the change of power, various initiatives were taken to reform the police force. After the interim government took office, it was decided to change the police uniform and logo in a meeting with then Home Affairs Advisor M Sakhawat Hossain on August 11. The next day, a 10-member committee headed by Additional DIG (Logistics) Mohammad Ataul Kibria was formed by the Police Headquarters.
